The Age of A.I.

Artificial Intelligence is becoming widely popular today. Many brand new companies have been founded in the last few years for the sole purpose of advancing AI technology. Artificial intelligence is the simulation of human intelligence processes by a computer, in its simplest form it can be used to search the web or, depending on the complexity, it can be use for national cybersecurity purposes. As with all developments AI has its pros, like improved safety and accessibility, yet it still poses some privacy and security problems.

Artificial Intelligence is great for simplifying our lives! People have the capability to use it for; navigating traffic jams, finding lost items, making grocery lists, and so much more. However with more and more people using AI everyday it is becoming wildly popular and everyday developers are making more complex AI. So complex in fact that many programs have the capability to use Facial Recognition Technology. This dangerous kind of AI facial recognition could be able to pick targets out of any camera, anywhere in the world and conduct warrant-less surveillance.

National Security is also at risk when is comes to cyber attacks. Tying into to the idea of surveillance, AI is used to infiltrate and collect foreign reconnaissance. What makes Artificial Intelligence so dangerous is a number of things, mainly its ability to avoid trackers and tracers. AI is used all over the world by governments and corporations alike. They use these programs to autonomously collect our data each and every time we sign on to the internet. Collecting unlimited data, every time we click a link, or like a picture, the smallest action on the internet can be interpreted and monetized for someone else’s personal gain.
